Privacy Policy.
Effective date: October 20, 2026 · Last updated: October 20, 2026
Good Seed Community Development Corporation (“Good Seed CDC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our clients, families, donors, volunteers, partners and website visitors. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through goodseedcdc.org, website inquiries and our related customer-care text messaging.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to our public website and the communications described here. Health, housing and social-service records may be governed by separate privacy notices, program requirements, consent forms and authorizations. This policy does not replace those documents or authorize disclosures requiring separate permission. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, information you provide may include your name, email address, telephone number and contact preferences; service inquiries and requests for assistance; volunteer, partnership, event or support inquiries; text messages and attachments; and messaging preferences and records of consent or opt-out requests.
Technical information collected by our website and its providers may include IP addresses, browser and device information, referring pages, pages visited, and access dates and times.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, medical records, financial account information or other sensitive records through general website forms or ordinary text messages. Contact our team for an appropriate way to provide documents needed for services.
3. How we use information
We use information as appropriate to respond to questions and requests; communicate about services, appointments, referrals and follow-up support; coordinate requested volunteer, partnership, event or donation-related activities; maintain communication preferences and consent records; operate, troubleshoot and secure our website and communications; and meet applicable legal, contractual and recordkeeping requirements.
Submitting a phone number or requesting assistance does not, by itself, enroll you in promotional text messaging.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to providers that host our website, manage communications, maintain records or provide technical support, as necessary for their work on our behalf; to service partners when you request a referral, authorize disclosure, or another applicable permission or legal requirement allows it; for lawful requests, safety and security purposes; or with your specific permission for another explained purpose. Protected program information remains subject to applicable notices and requirements.
We do not sell or rent personal information, exchange contact lists, or provide personal information to third parties for their own marketing or lead generation. The additional protections for mobile information and texting consent below apply to all disclosures described here.
5. Mobile information and text messaging privacy
Good Seed CDC’s customer-care texting supports client conversations, appointment coordination, service-related follow-up and requests for assistance.
We do not sell mobile numbers or disclose mobile information to third parties or affiliates for their promotional, marketing, advertising or lead-generation purposes.
We do not transfer text-message opt-in information or consent to another organization for its own messaging program. General information-sharing provisions in this policy do not authorize that use.
We may provide mobile numbers, message information and consent status to providers that help deliver and support our messages, including messaging platforms and telecommunications carriers, only as needed to provide those services. We may also make disclosures required by law.
Where you have agreed to receive text messages, message frequency varies according to your service needs and interactions with our team. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to the number that texted you to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance, or call (323) 758-5433. After an opt-out request, you may receive a confirmation message.
Texting consent is optional and is not a condition of receiving services. This policy does not itself obtain your consent to text messages.
6. Donations
When you follow a donation link, an external fundraising or payment provider may collect information under its own privacy policy. Good Seed may receive information needed to acknowledge a donation, maintain donation records and respond to donor requests.
7. Cookies, tracking and embedded services
Cookies and similar technologies can support website functions, remember preferences and provide information about website use. Embedded maps, videos, forms and other external features may communicate information to their providers when used or loaded.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website features.
8. Retention
We retain information for purposes such as responding to inquiries, supporting requested services, maintaining communication preferences and meeting applicable obligations. Retention depends on purpose and sensitivity, program requirements, legal obligations, and the need to maintain consent or suppression records.
9. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the information we handle and the services we provide. No website, communications system or storage method can guarantee complete security.
10. Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact us to ask what information we maintain about you; request correction or deletion; update communication preferences; withdraw permission where processing depends on consent; or raise a privacy question or concern.
We evaluate requests under applicable requirements. Some information may need to be retained for legal, program, security or recordkeeping purposes. We may verify your identity, or an authorized representative’s authority, before releasing information or acting on a request. We will explain applicable limits.
11. Children and youth
Good Seed serves young people through certain programs. Information collected for those programs is handled under applicable program procedures and privacy requirements.
Parents, guardians or authorized representatives with privacy questions may contact us using the information below.
12. External links
Our website may link to other organizations and service providers. Review their privacy policies before submitting information. Their practices are governed by their own notices and applicable requirements.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the dates above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain permission when required. Posting an updated policy does not substitute for consent required for a new use of information.
